Matlab 8.6 R2015b Group License Installation Instructions. This offer is distributed via a iso file. In this example we are installing Matlab on a Windows 8.1 computer.
(I have been a network security administrator. The job was never about arbitrarily refusing access, it was about risk management, and adherence to policy set by management. In cases where the policy was interfering with legitimate work it was my job to ask management to make an exception so that the work could get done. If management decided that maintaining the block was more important than the work being interefered with, then that was a management decision about what work that the employee was to do, which is something that was out of my hands.)
Install Network License Manager Offline
Use a File Installation Key (FIK) to install the network license manager on a machine that is not connected to the internet. You must download the installer and the FIK from a computer that does have an internet connection.
To avoid any potential issues with License File operation, consider upgrading the license manager software whenever you upgrade MATLAB® software.
Note
Starting with R2013b, network License Files have a new format. As a result, R2013b and later releases require an update to the latest version of the network license manager that ships with R2013b or later. You can continue to use older License Files and previous versions of the MATLAB software if you decide not to upgrade to R2013b or a later release.
Step 1: Get Ready to Install
You need to install the network license manager only one time at a site. For information about installing MathWorks software on clients, see Install MathWorks Software on Client Systems (Installation, Licensing, and Activation).
Step 2: Start the Installer
Step 3: Select Use a File Installation Key
Select Use a File Installation Key and click Next.
Step 4: Review the Software License Agreement
